Passionate about music from a young age, Christine began her musical education on the piano. The first time she heard a harp she was instantly captivated and began learning traditional music on the clarsach before developing classical techniques on the concert harp. Christine received training in performance and music education at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama), University of Glasgow, Royal Irish Academy of Music and Trinity College Dublin.  She performs on both the concert harp (pedal harp) and clarsach (lever harp).  Christine also holds a Licentiate of the London College of Music Diploma (LLCM) in Irish Traditional Music Performance on the Irish Harp as well as specialising in Scottish and Popular music.  She plays a Salvi Diana Concert Grand harp, which has been frequently played on the QE2 cruise liner, and she was delighted to be involved in the design process of her Celtic harp by Scottish harp-maker, Mark Norris.

Christine is devoted to encouraging and inspiring people to learn the harp which is why she helped to establish the North East of Scotland Branch of the Clarsach Society and served as music director and artistic advisor on the committee for a number of years.  She also founded the North East Harp Ensemble, a group formed to give harpists of all ages and abilities the chance to meet other players, expand their repertoire and share their music with the wider community.  She has led the ensemble to perform at various events and concerts including Aberdeen International Youth Festival and the annual Harps of Gold celebration.  Christine is also a regular tutor at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival where she has taught workshops, classes, and performed on stage both as a soloist and directing the North East Harp Ensemble.

Today, Christine travels all over Scotland for performances and teaches from her home studio in Glasgow. For a number of years now, Christine has been teaching using video-calling software and loves teaching her students that live all over the world.
